' Mac client is now in the Public Beta Environment with an open beta expected to follow soon, Riot Games' Steve 'Udyr' Mieczkowski revealed today in a surprise on the League of Legends forums. The Public Beta Environment (PBE) is a place for existing League of Legends players to give feedback and locate problems before new features hit the live servers. Mieczkowski wrote on the forums that the Mac client is currently available on PBE to allow players to help the developers find bugs and offer feedback.
Once this process is completed, the game will go into a full open beta launch. 'To make this happen, we've been hard at work: Riot engineers re-wrote a lot of the underlying game engine so that both PC and Mac platforms share the same code base and assets,' he said. 'This means Mac players will receive all future features, bug fixes, and new content at the same time as PC users.'
